Paremata (Rural) Ltd. was set up as a pastoral advisory company in October 2009 by Wayne Anderson, who has been involved in the farming/agribusiness sector for over 40 years.
The rationale of the business is to share and utilise this experience and expertise with those seriously committed to progressing the economic and environmental sustainability and diversity of pastoral agri-systems in New Zealand post-2010.
This view is predicated on an observed belief that any progress in promoting new systems of natural resource management - despite all the governmental, academic, and commercial tools at our disposal- is falling exponentially behind the actual ability of this Planet to sustainably and adequately provide for all of its current and future inhabitants.
From a New Zealand pastoral perspective there would seem to be in the first instance three main interconnected impediments to progress.
Lack of Systems -> lack of Planning -> poor Decision-making.
Lack of Profitability -> increased Debt/ reduced Equity -> diminishing/negative ROI.
Under-capitalisation -> lack of Investment -> land and natural resource Atrophy.
PRL's aim is to provide specifically targeted and confidential assistance in working towards overcoming these problems in an objective way through the promotion of the four interlinked programmes as outlined in "Services".
"A new civilisation is forming. So profoundly revolutionary is this new civilisation that it challenges all our old assumptions. Old ways of thinking, old formulations, dogmas, and ideologies, no matter how cherished or how useful in the past, no longer fit the facts. The World that is fast emerging from the clash of new values and technologies, new geopolitical relationships, new life styles and modes of communication, demands wholly new ideas and analogies, classifications and concepts. We cannot cram the embryonic World of tomorrow into yesterday's conventional cubbyholes."
